Today marks 2 weeks and 3 days until I embark on my life-changing trip to Alicante, Spain. While I am exploring this new country, I hope to solidify my Spanish speaking skills so I will be able to conversations with the locals and my host family fluently. In addition, I want to travel to different parts of Europe because I really enjoy learning about new cultures with rich history. Lastly, I hope to make lasting connections with my fellow peers who are also accompanying me through this journey. While I am excited to go on this adventure I am worried that I will be too hard on myself when I do not understand what is being said to me when my professors, peers, or host family members speak Spanish. Ultimately, my biggest worry is the intensive period because I do not know what to expect, all I know is my courses will be mainly taught in Spanish during the month of September. Overall, I look forward to this excursion because there are going to be ample opportunities that will remove me from my comfort zone which will help me grow as an individual.
